No matter what key the tuba is in (unlike other intruments), as long as you know the fingerings for that key (BBb CC Eb or F) you can read and play concert pitch right along with a piano.

For instance, if a piano plays a written Bb, to match it you would be open on a BBb horn, first valve on a CC horn and so one, but you're always playing a written Bb. If you had a trumpet you'd have to play a written C to match pitch, same with clarinet.
