As chuck mentioned you could read bass clef as treble clef with an Eb tuba, but it gets a little confusing with the changing of the key and when accidentals are thrown in there. But as you say a CC tuba would have the same fingerings as a trumpet C open, B second valve, Bb first valve, etc. you would just have to make sure you are reading the bass clef (second space C rather than third space as in the treble clef) That is where I get screwed up playing a CC tuba. I start reading the bass clef as treble and then I'm all screwed up!
