CC is about the easiest switch, as everything seems "natural" quite soon...

The theoretical "home key" (C - no sharps or flats) becomes the "home key" of the instrument, your fingerings line up very similarly to trumpet, french horn, (as many people have some familiarity with other brass instruments) etc...

The fastest way (I think) to learn a new set of fingerings (and you will not "unlearn" BBb) is to begin by playing things that you know very, very well (so they are really "in your ear" already) and play them on the CC instrument with the new fingerings.

As far as the "time trade-off"...This, I would think, is one of those "general life" questions (certainly not one of the profound ones...) How interested are you in doing this, and what's it worth to you?
