The silver on new horns is different from the horns of old,
and the "alloy" is a lot more tarnish resistant. I'd suggest
using Hagerty Silver polish, the clear spray, about once every 6 months.
It has an additional "anti-oxidant" which really works quite well
on all silver finishes. Satin takes a little extra patience, as if you use
"elbow-grease" to get the horn clean after applying polish, you can burnish
the satin-ized surface. Thats why I prefer the clear spray, let it dry,
wipe it down, then rinse with cool water and dry again.
