Good point about not getting too fancy with the sousaphone cases. I've designed and used wheel mountings on a couple of my tuba cases, but I don't think the patent idea would be worth the time. A couple of reasons. First, tuba cases (like tubas) have so many variations in shape it would be impossible to make a universal design. Second, someone would copy with or without modifications and unless they went into mass production, litigation would be far more costly than potential sales would justify. I've been toying with the idea of making generic tuba and sousaphone cases with real wheels. Don't know if they'd sell, but it's a thought. They'd be easy to copy for anyone with woodworking tools and modest skills using them, so it wouldn't be a get rich business or crowd Anvil or any of the big guys with the fancy (and expensive) flight cases.
