Conn's lettering system for instruments was:
A -- cornets
B -- trumpets
C -- alto horns
D -- French Horns
E -- mellophones
F -- tenor horns
G -- valve trombones
H -- slide trombones
I -- baritones and euphoniums
J -- basses (tubas)
K -- sousaphones and helicons
L -- bugles
M -- saxophones
N -- clarinets
O -- flutes
P -- piccolos
Q -- oboes
There may have been others, but these are pretty well documented.
