To elaborate on your suggestion, not only does a consignment sale at one of the shops you mentioned have the advantage of the volume of traffic through their stores, but they also both have websites on which it will be posted. Most people will be more willing to pay a little more for an instrument, even over the internet, if they are buying it from a reputable dealer rather than an unknown entity on an auction site. A consignment sale at one of those stores has the advantage of being accessable to anyone with a computer without the limitation of a 7-10 day sale period on an auction site. If you are willing to wait up to a few months, and the horn is reasonably priced, it will sell for more in a shop.
