I remember - quite a few years ago - riding in a frizzin' JEEP (NOT a NICE "modern-day" Jeep) 150 miles to the bootheel of Missouri to play for the *funeral of the grandmother of a celebrity (you know Tom, that woman who produced M*A*S*H etc. - Tomason ??...whatever) I had just had an operation on my "backside", so the Jeep ride wasn't much fun. Then the (very long) graveside services were in 18 degree temps. Somehow, our valves went up and down, but I'm not sure how.

*This was in the early days of the discovery of AIDS, and I think the grandmother died from AIDS caused by a blood transfusion from a Memphis hospital.
