Well, not wanting to sound off topic.. but Buddy Rich was O.K. to me. When I was in undergrad, our music fraternity brought in the Buddy Rich Band as a fund raiser. The manager sent his list of requests (peeled tomatoes on the sandwiches, six cases of Perrier. etc.) and we had the backstage area set up for them. We did not peel the tomatoes before slicing (no rain of fire) and they did not touch the mineral water. I magine what fancy French water does for the image of a bunch of good-ol-boys. When we invited him to the house for burgers, he declined, but several band members came over. Buddy said nothing out of the way to any of us, but did fire a trombone player for missing an entrance... again. I took the poor guy to the bus station for a ticket back home.
