In 1997 I was the only American competing in the tuba competition and Adam Frey was the only American Euphoniumist. It was an excellent competition and a really neat little town. The Canadian tubist David Kutz went on to the semi-final round. Turns out Roland Szentpali came in 2nd to Frenchman Arnould Boukatin (sp?) in the tuba division and and Shoichiro Hokazono won the euphonium division. There are sure to be some heavy-hitters there!

Usually a panel of adjudicators with Internationa Reputations: Steven Mead, Roger Bobo, Brian Bowmen, Tony Plog, etc.

I highly recommend going - it was a very exciting time and a great learning experience! Here is the website; better brush up on you French. Email me personally if you have any questions - I can recommend a nice hotel.
