Your problem is that you will probably not get what you paid for it when you sell yours or trade it in. Even though it is only a few months old, yours is still a used horn and will sell for at least a few hundred dollars less than what you paid for it. Therefore to sell yours and buy a silver one expect to pay $800 to $1000 more. A trade-in would probably cost you about the same amount. Whoever you trade it to needs to make a profit on reselling it and can therefore only give you a price that would allow them to make a reasonable markup.

To have yours silver plated would cost much more. I would suggest learning to like lacquer. :)
