I lost 80 pounds three years ago. It helped everything.

Loosing weight took a combination of exercise and sensible eating.

Musicians have the unfortunate problem of trying to balance their art with everything else in life. You simply MUST have practice to maintain or improve.

Most people who spend 2 hours a day working out, won't have the physical energy to practice but you don't need 2 hours. 30 minutes a day will work if you eat reasonably.

By the way, Arnold Jacobs explained to me why brass players have a propensity toward a pot belly. It seems, he said, that as we breathe, we "massage" the stomach causing it to secrete digestive juices which MAKES us hungry. He played pretty good with a belly, don't you think?
