I stive for 'natural resonance'. I think that my rolls of fat should vibrate at 68% of the speed my lips do. This is not easy to accomplish, but I am quite gifted at maintaining a big-fat-ass. My audience loves it. They say the 'jello-fat' effect brings my quality of my sound to new heights. It makes sense, if you think about it. We strive for an efficient buzz and calm-controlled use of air. My gut produces a very nice buzz when it slaps against my belt buckle while I search for air after climbing five/six stairs. I'm sure we can all see how this aids playing. I have researched and written on this topic at great length. Anyone who would like to chat about it with me can join me at the Winking Lizard Tavern in Cleveland tonight between 4:30pm and 1:30am. Tonight is rib night.
