Arnold Jacob's belly got so big he once told me he was being jabbed by the carrying strap rings on his large York! He said he was going to have them removed. Does anyone know if he actually had them removed?

In addition, I would guess that the tissues in and around the lungs would also get fat in the very obese tubist. It only stands to reason that it would limit the amount of air they could move. Excess weight can also lead to diabetes and heart disease and make it very hard to walk. At age of sixty Bill Bell complained that his knees and legs could hardly hold him up. When I last saw Harvey Phillips a few years ago his weight and blood pressure had taken a great tole on his motion. He still played well, however.
