Bravo to Mike Dunn and all of the faculty and students that made SRTEC a fantastic event. I really enjoyed hearing the student recitals, mock auditions, and of course the recitals by amazing players like David Zerkel, Joe Skillen, Dennis Askew, Richard Perry, Willie Clark (the list is too long!) The student recitals where also outstanding. Thank you to the accompanists too!
I have to say here what I told them in person: Sotte Voce is the most important thing happening in the tuba/euphonium world! The amount of talent in that group is staggering. If you get the chance, I would strongly recommend that you hear them live and/or buy their CD. Amazing musicians each of them!
It was great to see old friends again and to make new ones too - that's what it's all about!
