My favorite comments were not so much on the octave rumblings, but that of dress codes and stage deportment. A blue suit is NOT a tuxedo, just as a tux jacket and a long tie with your wing tip shirt from the night before do not equal a black suit for a matinee performance. You've invested thousands in the equipment for the job, so please have a little self-respect and invest a couple of hundred dollars more in a suit and tux jacket, and shoes that accept polish!

Also...it takes five seconds to put your music in the folder and close it for the librarian. Why not let those five seconds happen AFTER the applause? Stand up, face your audience proudly, and ACCEPT their applause...don't ignore it by messing with music, packing up your horn, looking for your pencil under your chair, or anything else. Maybe your audience will say to themselves, "Wow...they appreciate that I came out to hear their live music tonight! Maybe I'll come to the next concert!"

THAT has been building up for awhile!
