Well, for some the orchestra spot is the top, and I'm in no position to argue with them.
But consider the career of Bill Bell--Sousa's band, service bands, big bands, circus bands and orchestra as well as teacher.
Makes me think that the golden age of the tuba is long departed. Heck, even the polka bands don't use tubas anymore.
