The older Jupiters have diagonal second valve tubing. On the newer ones it's horizontal. I like the Jupiter because it is free-blowing even in the low register (because of the larger-bore tubing in the 3rd & 4th valves) and because it is comfortable to hold (for me) and because it has a low "shoulder" that you can reach over with your left hand to turn pages while playing.
But I wish the 2nd valve had a longer slide to pull out for 2&4 notes. And I wish the pistons were positioned at a different angle so that the right wrist could be straight while playing, instead of bent downward. The mouthpiece receiver is at a good position for an adult but may be too high for a short person, say under 5' 10". I know one student who has to sit on a book to play it.
