Some "different" types of grade 3-4 things are "Sinfonia Six" by Timothy Broege (four short vingettes based on the elements of nature... each one a solist with band) and "Little French Suite" by Pierre LaPlante (three movements... very stylistic French dances). Also "Prospect" by Pierre LaPlante (based on "Lone Wild Bird" tune). On the easier side is "Overture in c minor" by Eric Osterling and on the harder side "Sodermanland March" also by Osterling.

None of these are those pop sounding, commercially successful kinds of tunes.

But, then again:

Popular music is only popular because a lot of people like it.
