I attended a Boston Pops concert and heard them play Bolero. The snare drummer, the BSO's wonderful percussionist Harold Farberman, won a well-deserved ovation for his performance. He drove the piece along while constantly making subtle changes in his pattern. He managed to reach out and touch the audience.
Do I have to suggest a lesson one might learn from this?
