This horn was hand made for Warren Deck of the New York Philharmonic. There are only two in existence. Matt Good has the other one. It is silver plated and has a custom bent leadpipe that is like the Meinl Weston 2000's. It also has a custom setup on the 5th valve wrap and angle that is like the 5th valve on the MW 2000's. It has a first valve slide pusher and most of the custom Work was done by Warren himself at the Meinl Weston factory while the horn was being constructed. Obviously it has been used extensively in the New York Philharmonic but has also been used for the last 2 years in the Seattle Symphony. This horn is truly one of a kind and plays great. Good low register, very open blowing. Even sound across the entire register of the horn. The sound is great and projects like crazy and it will not break up at all. It is the perfect compliment f tuba for anyone who owns a Meinl Weston 2000. They are identical in how they sit in your lap and feel. It comes with an aluminum Meinl Weston flight case. It is significantly more expensive than a stock horn but well worth it to anyone who appreciates how a handmade tuba plays and sounds. It is currently at Dillon Music on consignment. Anyone who is interested can contact me or Matt Walters at Dillon's. Thanks.
