I would also prefer a good 681 to any Jupiter, but the poster was asking about front-action piston tubas. In fact, I used to own a Sanders that was a stencil of a 681, and it was a decent player though it was rather fragile, and the fit and finish left somewhat to be desired. But once I fixed the big leak in a second-valve ferrule, it played well. In particular, I love the valves, which were hollow and very fast. But the instrument was not as responsive as a Miraphone 186.

But Cerveny doesn't have a reputation for great consistency, and I'd definitely try several or get the help of a pro in making the selection.
