Thanks for the story. Wow. If only more of us realized the maxims for life that Fred Rogers taught us the world would be a kinder, gentler place.

Last night, before my roommate's recital of which I was a participant, the drummer asked if we could have a moment of silence for Mister Rogers. At first I thought he was kidding. He wasn't. And I'm so glad: 7 college-age musicians and 1 college-age musician plus 10 years or so (me: I'm 30), held hands and prayed a prayer for the man. I think most of us realize that our first exposures to jazz and classical music was directly from his show. I thank him for that. Because for the rest of my life I get to do what I love. And it's because he showed me the way.

Thank you Sir. You'll always live on in every child's heart you touched.
