I've played three. Blow into them and the sound is really pleasing. Play a scale and the intonation is not. I didn't really like the valves either. The valve comment is an opinion, the intonation comment is a combination of my ears, ______'s (famous tubist) ears, ______'s(flute player with a major gig)ears, a korg tuner, and the strobe tuner. Some of the pitches were not even close. As I think back, I thought it was kind of stuffy too. I'll agree with Mr. Denny that the dealers reputation may play a part in peoples dislike of the horn, however: a)this dealer, like all dealers, has earned his reputation, b)two of the three horns I've played were in Europe, so this dealer had nothing to do with this purchase. As with all horns, you need your own tuner and your own friends to hear it, so consider everything I've written with a grain of salt. Peace. ASG arnoldgottliebgigs(AT)yahoo.com
