Floyd played a Gronitz on the Romantic Tuba album. The model he played is not being made currently. I have always thought that was the most beautiful F tuba sound ever.

He toured, promoting that album, and played the Gronitz on tour. The intonation on that horn was so strange that he used alternate fingerings all of the time and was pulling slides in addition but he played with flawless intonation and a sound that would transcended it being from a tuba. I couldn't play an F scale in tune on that tuba with any of the fingerings I knew. (3rd valve was 2+3)

He played other tubas on other albums but my mind was in an unaltered state during that time period and I am certain it was a Gronitz.
