All tubas read concert pitch(brass bands read treble clef, so they don't count, here). Simply put, you learn a new set of fingerings for each key of tuba. The pattern of the fingerings is the same. As to what brand of tuba would give you the best "bang for buck" value. That is more difficult to tell you. Perhaps you should tell us a little about your background. Maybe include what type of horn you are presently playing. How much money do you have to spend? What type of playing do you do? Is it just concert band?
