Hey there -

Miraphones are great horns. There are also a whole lot of other possibilities out there that could work great for you. The best thing would be to go to a place that sells a lot of tubas such as Dillon Music in New Jersey or Baltimore Brass in Balitmore, Maryland (of course) and play as many horns as you can to get that best idea of what will work for YOU. Check under the music shops link n this website and it will give you several good options.

No tuba is transposing, therefore each tuba (BBb,CC,Eb,F) has a different set of fngerings. The key of the tuba is based off the fundamental (lowest note) of the open (no valves pressed down) harmonic series. Even though you may not know wat all that means now, go ask your teacher and he/she will be glad to explain it to you.

PS. Don't be frusterated when you make the switch to CC!!!! It takes time and practice to understand how those things really work. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
