Art, when did you do your comparison? I have found new-style Kings with stuffy fourth valves, and Kings that blew openly in the low register. I think many had poor valve alignment or some other issue that limited the fourth valve effectiveness, but the newer ones seem to be generally better than the first batch in this regard. Was it possible that you tried an early one that might have had that fourth-valve stuffiness?
In contrast, I thought the Jupiter a bit stiff, which is probably a good thing for its target market.
