I have to concur with the other respondants in regard to the mouthpiece's tone - it does sound hollow, and lacks the normal warm core that we are used to getting with our metal mouthpieces. However, it has been a revelation for marching gigs, especially when it is boiling hot (in Australia). My advice - get one for cold outdoor gigs and marching gigs. For any sitdown jobs, use the regular metal mouthpiece if at all possible.
