Just my opinion: teach the kid piano or violin first. The musculature in a child under the age of 8 is usually not well developed enough (or for that matter large enough) to handle a brass instrument. This is why most wind players don't start until they're aged 9 - 12. Keyboard and string players, however, start as early as two.
If you and the kid REALLY want to start at this age, do yourself a favor and consult an oral surgeon or dentist for any precautions or dangers you should be aware of.
