OK. All this recent talk of great F Tubas has made me think seriously about getting one.

6 rotary valves make sense to me. I like a horn with a good bit of resistance and like the flexibility the 6th valve offers.

Horns which seem worthy of further investigation include (new & available):
# Miraphone 181-6
# PT-16
# PT-9 (3100)
# Gronitz 6 valve machine (is it the 127?)
# Rudolf Meinl 6rv (again, I forget the model)

Used instruments would include any of the above and also I have to include the B&S Symphonie 6rv for consideration! Is it fair to say that the best examples of most horns (in any key) don't actually get to the 'used market' as friends snap them up at the first opportunity?

Any opinions are welcomed in comparing the above instruments. Am I missing out any stunning horns?? I haven't got on well with HB and MW in the past but don't rule them out completely.

Best.
