I futzed around with a K&M stand - mostly at Gene's recommendation - and ended up tossing it on a shelf. It wasn't that I hated it...It just seemed to be more trouble than it was worth...and the embouchure thing was another subconscious issue (though I didn't realize it consciously until just now when you pointed it out to me).
Though I am a fat guy (struggling to slowly shrink back down), I have no problem sitting on the left front corner of a flat-seated chair and placing the (6/4) tuba on that corner of the chair in front of me...
...no stand...no leg discomfort...easy "tiltability".
