...and our poster should be resigned to the possibility that nothing is going to work. I used to have an old euphonium case that spent 60 years in a damp New York basement. After removing the lining, it stank. After dousing the wood shell with straight Clorox, it stank.

Finally, I threw it on a burning slash pile. It quit stinking.

On a serious note, some molds can be quite deadly. Just ask someone who deals with "sick building" syndrome.
