The 88+ is the heavyweight version of the regular PT-88. I think that's the only difference.

I'm not well-versed in PT mouthpieces, so I can't really say much here. I keep going back to my PT-50 on my VMI 3302 (well, it's a B&S PT-2 plus a 5th rotor, for those who are into brand names), but then again, that's just me. I couldn't use it on the King sousaphone back in college, though -- it felt like the horn had a gerbil inside unless I went back to a Conn Helleberg.
