There once was a performer/teacher that I knew who said as a player we should use motor nerves to make a statement when we play. When teaching, we use sensory nerves to absorb information, analyze it then communicate with the student. These are two seperate hats to wear and many times a performer's skill diminish after teaching because he is analyzing like a teacher, not making a statement like a perfomer. Then there are the cases of academians, many can talk the talk but over analyze - especially PHD's.

It takes a special person to develop as both the master player and master teacher. Many times this takes years, perhaps when Sean graduates from the Army this may change.
