Is the Conn 2xJ really a BAT? It has a large diameter bell flare, but in terms of actual cross sectional area at any given point along the length of the horn it doesnt seem that big compared to the cyclopean 2165/Holton class of instrument. Considering the 20j tuba and 20k sousaphone are the same instrument wrapped differently, it seems to me that the Conn jumbo sousaphone would be their entry into the BAT class, though Im not sure they ever made a tuba of those dimensions.
