But "Faster air can equal louder sound" is a good starting point, and OFTEN, no great further explanation is necessary. However, I'm willing to bet that if you were not an engineer, and didn't have a more analytical than average mind, and you had a lesson with Arnold Jacobs, you'd come away with a much greater idea of how you want to play the tuba, but with less analysis than you might think. Paralysis by analysis and all that. Not to say that Jacobs couldn't analyze with the best of them...
