Here's an idea. Before you drywall, put up a layer of soundboard. It comes in 4'x8'x1/2" sheets and is really cheap (about the same as drywall). I have seen it at home depot. It kind of looks like really dense cardboard and is usually brown or grey. It won't totally soundproof, but should help out quite a bit and not set you back much at all.
