Well, I don't think it's safe to say he does all his playing on F. In the German Brass Goes Bach DVD, he uses a contrabass on a number of the arrangements. I'm guessing it's the Walter Hilgers MW 197 BBb? In any event...amazing is a word I would also use to charecterize his sound and playing.

On the topic of that DVD...the contrabass looks huge next to him. If it is the WH 197, the MW website has it listed as a 5/4 horn. The one he's using looks to be as big as most any 6/4 I've seen. Or, is he a small guy? Or, is it some sort of effect caused by the horn being closer than he is to the camera? Just currious.
