On Sousaphones, Eb horns usually do not make a complete loop over the shoulder; a support is soldered in to connect the wrap to the bell. On the other hand, BBb Sousas do not use a support member, and the horn's tubing itself creates the loop over the player's shoulder.
These days, there may be very small Eb Sousas (from India) that do not use a brace because the horn's tubing itself loops over the player's soulder.
