Unless I'm confused about the model, the Jupiter would have (according to others on this board) a "German" style bell and a (new classification) "Japanese" style valve section, meaning (coining a new term here) that the tubes are routed* in "haywire" directions...similar to Yamaha "pro" 3/4 tubas. *Isn't tubing routing all that you're really discussing when you guys speak of "piston vs. rotary"?

It's all B.S. Who goes shopping for a "German" style or "American" style tuba with those general concepts in mind without thinking of specific models? The only shopping that I've witnessed (at least on this board) involves naming specific models of tubas.

If someone is going to tell me that Miraphone and Alexander tubas have similar sound characteristics because they are both "German style" tubas, I'm going to tell that that they're full of crap...

Oh, and here's another pfft for lovers of pfft's.
