Oh, I"m with you there....I play the Eb part in a brass band. It is not an "excellent" brass band, but it is an ambitious one, so even though the cornets sound like cats in heat, I do get those cool tuba parts. I've gravitated to my CC tuba on the Eb part though, excpet in the instance where I have a high solo, in which case I play that on my F. I love playing in the orchestra, but will go back to horn next year because the tuba parts are too few and far between. In concert band I far prefer playing euphonium.
