Given where you live, you should contact Dave Fedderly at Baltimore Brass. He often has one of the Weril 680's in stock, plus other smaller tubas (e.g. the Meinl-Weston 18). I figure it's not much more than an hour from where you are. The Weril is a solid instrument that is small enough for a young beginner but usable enough for an adult, and it's also cheaper new than that Miraphone would be used.
