The recently-upheld-by-the-US-Supreme-Court Sonny Bono Copyright Extension Act extends that 70 years to 95 (hence, the 2019 date I cited below).
Sonny (according to his wife) wanted copyrights to last forever and was very disappointed when he was told that doing so would be unconstitutional.
