By 1956-57 most Conn sousaphones had a bell diamet of 36" = 66cm.
You tell off 3 short action pistons, which very strongly points towards the 20K model, but I haven't heard of that model being delivered with a 24" bell. Are you sure, that the valve stems are off-set from the center of the piston?
