I used to have this problem (frequent replacement)when I used a similar product. I purchased black tool box liner from Home Depot 2 and a half years ago, cut an appropriate strip and have used the exact same piece the entire time. For me, it has much more grip than chamoise cloths, or the rubber webbing for rugs. It hasn't worm AT ALL. It never sheds, and I can always rely on it to provide a consistent grip on my horns/clothing. I spent $5 on the roll, and have yet to use it all.
