How about a strap? I use one with my Yamaha yfb-621 f tuba. Some folks use a strap only for standing or stolling, but I use one while sitting also. It keeps the horn right where I want it and frees my left arm to manipulate slides if needed. I imagine a strap could fix your sliding problem as well. My horn has rings already on it, and a $20 leather shotgun strap from Gander Mountain is what I use. I hope this suggestion helps.
