You might consider (assuming the odor associated with something besides odorless valve oil doesn't bug you) using something a lot thicker as valve oil - the thickest oil you can find or mix that does not slow down the valves, until you get that valve rebuild job.
If the Conn mouthpiece looks like a funnel on the outside (Conn 2, etc.), it's probably as good as any.
