While all services pay the same, not all services promote the same. Also, the signing perks are all different for each of the services.

So, to say that all services pay the same is technically correct, it is a false statement when looking deeper.

The Army get's their uniforms up front and gets a clothing allowance each year. The Marines have to pay for their uniforms. The Air Force typically promotes slower than both services, so over a career (or even 4 years) an Airman will not make as much as a Soldier or a Marine.

Look at the details before jumping on board with a service. If you want to be a Marine, then do it. If you want to be a Soldier, then do it. If you aren't particular and the benefits are most important, than look deeply into them and do what is right for you. Don't get a quick answer and believe it. Get an answer with an explaination, and then get verification from another party (or 6).
