A better double would be the F contrabass. However, if you want to stick to the BBb contrabass, spend the money and get a Thein. Yes, it is twice the money, but more than likely worth it.
Even better is to stick with the cimbasso idea. You can get those in F, Eb, and C. YOu still get the more cylindrical sound, with the poor intonation most trombonists have come to expect from the tuba player...
